LAOS. God is answering prayer for persecuted Christians by giving them an unusual measure of praise and faith. A sister in Christ wrote, "Jesus told that if you follow him, this means you will be persecuted. This makes it known to us that he is the real God, because what he already told is happening." (VOM)
SAUDI ARABIA. A Saudi Church...is a reality despite Saudi claims to the contrary. (RLPB)
ARIZONA. Despite 112-degree heat, 150 international students came to the Fall welcome barbecue, sponsored by Bridges International (Arizona State University) (CCC)
INVOKE DIVINE ACTION THIS WEEK IN BEHALF OF:
HONDURAS. A state of national emergency has been declared, following a report that a dengue fever epidemic is spreading over the country, has infected more than 40,000 people and killed 55. Pray for the health of Christian staff serving in the middle of these and other social threats. (CrossRoads)
SRI LANKA. Civil war has produced at least 4,000 child soldiers, and is blamed for drawing over 30,000 children into the pornography industry. Ask God to make superhumanly fruitful Christian ministries seeking to reach them. (Viva)
EGYPT. Pray that the government will revoke a Sharia law provision whereby Christians must drop charges of violence in exchange for Muslim assurances that the conflict has ended. Since adoption of this "reconciliation" law in 2007, violent persecution has soared. Pray for the Church in Egypt. (RLPB)
ZIMBABWE. Pray for Zimbabwe children. 1.8 million are living as orphans. Only 20% of the country's children attend school. Pray for Viva Network, a group of projects and churches serving around 4,000 children at risk in 10 deprived communities. Ask God to expand the scope of Viva's life-giving ministry.
