Most Church Leaders Don’t Sign Codes of Ethics
Unlike many professionals, most evangelical leaders are not required to sign a formal code of ethics. "For many churches and Christian organizations, there are unspoken rules, or guidelines, for ethical behavior," said Leith Anderson, NAE President. "The problem with unspoken rules is that no one has agreed to a standard.”

NAE Calls President, Congress to Reassert Authority on Immigration Law
Fifteen religious leaders, including Leith Anderson, urged the President and Congress to "reassert your authority" and enact immigration reform legislation. The letter expressed concern that, because of its inaction, the federal government is implicitly transferring "unprecedented authority" to state and local governments to implement immigration policy.

NAE Supports Churches’ Right to Meet in Schools
The NAE filed another amici brief in support of the Bronx Household of Faith and other churches that rent space in public schools for their services. The brief argues that the First Amendment guarantee prevents the government from discriminating against churches when they make their facilities available to other community groups.

The U.S. branch of Micah Challenge, a global movement encouraging Christians to be committed to the poor and hold governments accountable to the Millennium Development Goals, has launched a new website, which is packed with the new tools and information on addressing extreme poverty. Member Spotlight: South Park Church
South Park Church, a nondenominational church in Park Ridge, Ill., has been a longstanding member of the NAE. Recently the missions team travelled to India, where – among many other activities – they participated in the rededication of a church that South Park helped construct 22 years ago.
