PRAYER & PRAISE:
1. The MINISTRY LEADERSHIP COUNCIL and the GENERAL OVERSIGHT COUNCIL of the MISSIONARY CHURCH are meeting this week in Fort Wayne. Pray that God will give wisdom and guidance to these teams as they seek His will for our denomination.
2. Approximately 200 delegates and guests attended our Regional Conference, ReGen '12, at FIRST MISSIONARY CHURCH, CLARSKSTON, on May 1. Thanks go out to REV. BUD FREED, REV. MATT MENDENHALL and all the FMC family who made us all feel quite welcome in their church home.
3. Thank you for your continued prayer for REV. STAN LIECHTY, COLONIAL WOODS MC, as he recovers from his recent heart attacks and injuries suffered when he fell. Stan may be moved to a rehab facility sometime this week. He is regaining some strength and is learning how to do as much as possible while dealing with his broken ankle and ribs. Stan and Shirley are most grateful for your prayer support.
4. PHYLLIS PHIPPS, wife of REV. RON PHIPPS - Support Ministries Coordinator for the Missionary Church, is working hard to regain the use of her hips, legs and feet. Please continue to pray for her progress and protection.
5. REV. GERALD SIMS, NEW HOPE MC - LAPEER, continues to receive chemotherapy treatment for cancer. Pray that he will be healthy and strong as his body endures the chemo.
6. CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR:
- DR. BOB HAM, BETHEL COLLEGE professor and choir director. Bob recently had cancer surgery and they were unable to remove all the cancer.
- GRACE McLAVY, daughter of Regional Bookkeeper, JANET (MARK) McLAVY. Doctors are still trying to find the right dosage of medication to prevent her seizures.
- ESTHER PEASE, mother of AMY (REV. PAUL) SCULTZ - NEW FAITH CHAPEL - ROMULUS. Mrs. Pease is suffering from ALS (amoytorphic lateral sclerosis). May God give extra strength to her husband, DON, has he cares for Esther
- REV. MARK BEERS, MIDLAND MC, is still dealing with blood clots in his lungs, headaches, blood pressure issues and a mass on his parotid gland. Pray that the doctors will reach a consensus on how to best treat Mark's health issues.
- GAIL & STEVE STUTZMAN continue to need prayer. GAIL, daughter of retired Regional pastor REV. RICHARD (JUNE) CULP, is still in the treatment process for breast cancer. STEVE is recovering from heart valve surgery. The Stutzman's are scheduled to work with the children's program at Brown City Camp in August.
- NANCY FLEDDERJOHANN, wife of REV. RICK FLEDDERJOHANN - BROWN CITY MC, is dealing with a variety of food allergies which is causing several health issues.
7. FAMILIES WHO HAVE RECENTLY LOST LOVED ONES:
- PASTOR PAUL & LYNN MELCHER, WATERTOWN MC - SANDUSKY. Paul's father, JACK MELCHER, passed away on April 19.
- REV. JASON & LINDSEY ROHDE, DAVISON MC, buried Jason's mother JERI on Monday of this week.
- REV. CLIFF & JANET BATTERBEE lost a grandson, EDWARD BATTERBEE, last week in an auto accident.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & OPPORTUNITIES:
1. The Michigan Region will present a LEADERSHIP ACADEMY at FAITH MISSIONARY CHURCH on May 19 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. DAN HUCKINS, pastor of Lima Community Church, Lima, OH, is the guest speaker. Dan will speak on RETHINKING CHURCH: DISCIPLESHIP TO MISSION. There is no cost for this event but we request that you register with the Regional Resource Center (office@mcmichigan.org or (810) 742-7462) as soon as possible so that we can have adequate resources available that day.
2. CAMP WORK FELLOWSHIPS:
- Many thanks to those who attended last Saturday's work fellowship at MANCELONA CAMP. We are glad for the efforts that were made to prepare the camp for the camping season.
- BROWN CITY CAMP work fellowship is scheduled for JUNE 11-15. Come for part of the week or the whole time! Your help will be greatly appreciated.
