New Hispanic Projects
|
Pastor Toby Lazo
Director of Hispanic Ministries -Western District
California
Lynwood - The strategy that will be used to open this new church (The Lynwood Project) will be a little different. They plan to start three to five small groups in the community and then begin Sunday services. It may take longer, but in the long run, be more effective. Please pray that God will open the doors of a home so that a small group is able to get started.
Williams - This plant will be a joint effort between the Iglesia Hermanos Unidos of Sacramento and the Church of Yuba City. They held their first service on Friday, March 9th, in the home of one of the families. A total of 15 adults and 4 children attended.

Many of the young people from La Iglesia Celular are attending the English services. This new church will be called "Water to Wine" and will be led by Elias Recinos (pastor Edwin's son).

Missionary Home Church Network
|
|
Adam & Holly Koehler
(Fort Myers, FL)
The Missionary Home Church Network is an alternative, not a competitor, to traditional church - a growing network of home-based churches who are part of the Missionary Church. The MHCN is focused on equipping these home churches with tools, resources, and ideas on how to help each other love God and people.
Unlike traditional church, the MHCN does not have Sunday morning gatherings. Each home church consists of friends, family and neighbors who meet once per week in a home. These weekly get-togethers are not necessarily structured, but usually consist of the following elements:
Loving Fellowship through a shared meal, refreshments, games and/or simple "hang out" time.
Interactive Prayer - talking and listening to God as a group.
Honest Worship - through creative arts, sharing testimony, Bible reading, etc.
Bible Application by video lesson produced by the MHCN staff.
Each home is also given a pastor. Pastors care for the spiritual health of the home churches by providing accountability, counseling, visitation and encouragement.
